Word of Mouth Marketing

FREE Stuff? Want to Try Out new products from different companies?

Do you like FREE STUFF? Did you know that some companies will give you FREE products to try out and tell your friends about? Well, it's true! There are several companies out there like this. You have probably even heard of a few, or maybe you've seen my posts on Facebook and Twitter about companies like BZZAgent or Influesnter. If not, that's okay, just keep reading for a great list of word of mouth marketing sites!

If you're not familiar with Word of Mouth (WOM) Marketing, you should be. It is the most influential type of marketing and it happens every day. Basically, it boils down to someone telling someone else about a new product or service that they like. If you've EVER told someone about a new, cool product, you've participated in word of mouth marketing.

Remember!

All of these opportunities are 100% FREE. They do not charge to join nor do they charge you for shipping the items to you.

BzzAgent

BzzAgentBzzAgent is the cream of the crop when it comes to word of mouth marketing. They have the most campaigns and the most members of any of the word of mouth marketing companies. When you join, you become a BzzAgent and your job is to spread the “Bzz” about products that they send you. You do have to take short surveys (less than 5 minute each) to determine whether you fit into the demographic of a Bzz Campaign and you get MyPoints (a cashback/rewards program) for every survey you complete as well as every time you Bzz about a product and report back to BzzAgent about it. You can trade these points for gift cards to restaurants, department stores, travel companies, etc.

Crowdtap
CrowdtapCrowdtap is a unique word of mouth marketing company. After you sign up, which they call “tapping in”, you take 1 question surveys for points. Sometimes the questions qualify you for a discussion board topic. Other times, they qualify you for product test/reviews or parties. They have monthly rewards, and I have won tons of Amazon gift cards to buy products me and my family want or need from Amazon. They have some really cool brands working with them such as Old Navy, Listerine and Hawaiian Tropic. The BEST part of this company, though, is that your effort rewards charities. When you join, you choose a charity and Crowdtap donates money to that charity whenever you cash out your points.

They used to have rewards with cash and/or cool prizes (like my T-Shirt I won) but now they’ve switched over to monthly drawings.  You can win giftcards and products - so still not bad, but not the same as it was.
House PartyHouse Party is another word of mouth marketing program. If you qualify, You throw parties sponsored by brands! House Party reveals new parties on a regular basis and you apply for the ones you’re interested in. You take a short survey that covers both demographics as well as shopping/lifestyle. Then, they select the best candidates for each party. House Party sends you a kit with enough items for 10-15 guests and then you throw a party and have some fun. This is a really popular word of mouth marketing website and some of the parties are very hard to get into but they are VERY worth it. In the past I got to host a party for Budweiser, and I received some pretty cool gifts to give to my party goers, including great coupons for food to grill at my party.
InfluensterInfluenster is a really fun word of mouth marketing company. They send out “VoxBoxes” which are boxes filled with products to test out and share. The boxes you receive are based on your interests and lifestyle. You take very short quizzes about various parts of your life to earn badges. These badges determine the type of boxes you can receive. In order to receive a VoxBox, you should have some method to “influence” people, meaning that you have a blog to write reviews on, a YouTube channel to do video reviews, a Twitter account, Facebook, etc. They tell you that the more influence you have, the better your chance of getting a VoxBox.

Once you get the VoxBox, you have challenges to complete for each product in the box. These challenges can be as simple as following the manufacturer on Twitter and Facebook or as complex as doing a video review. When you complete the challenges, you earn a badge. The badges qualify you for special giveaways or discounts. The most active Influensters have the highest chance of being chosen for another VoxBox.
Klout logoKlout is a website that ranks your social influence based on your Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus, etc social media pages. You connect the accounts you have to Klout and based on the shares, retweets, comments, etc you get, Klout calculates a “Klout score.” Based on this Klout score and your influence in specific categories, you can receive “perks.” Perks are freebies that range from exclusive coupon codes to free makeup to even free trips. A few downsides to Klout are that you have to work to keep your score up, you have to make sure you rank in categories you want perks in and the perks are few and far between. But if you like freebies, Klout should definitely be on your list!
Smiley 360Smiley360 is another one to add to your list. Similar to all the other companies, you take short surveys and your answers qualify you for Smiley Missions. These Missions are like BzzCampaigns, you receive a box with the product, usually some coupons and a guide on how to spread the word about the product. For every mission activity you complete such as posting to Facebook or telling someone face to face, you earn “Smiles” and these Smiles determine your level. The higher your level, the more opportunities you receive.
SwaggableSwaggable is a brand new word of mouth marketing website and it’s pretty unique too! Swaggable sends you free samples of products that you are interested in and you write reviews about them and share the reviews with your friends. You can tell Swaggable what you’re interested in by clicking the “I Want This” button on available products on the Swaggable website. Your wants are then combined with your demographics and companies offer you free samples.

Sinful color review

I received a FREE sample from +Influenster and @SinfulColors_NP of their wonderful nail polish.

I was excited to try this new polish, as I have gotten out of the habit of painting my nails.   When I was younger, I would paint my nails different color and different designs.   I remember some of my friends asking me to paint cute little bugs and flowers on their nails.   Well the times have changed and now we have so many nail products in the stores, sometime it can be overwhelming....you know what I mean?

This is a product worth trying.   Most large box stores carry this, along with corner pharmacy stores.   The normal retail price is $1.99 and there are multiple colors to choose from.   I did notice some stores have more colors than others, so if your looking for a particular color, try another one of your favorite stores.

The SinfulColors Professional Nail Polish has good coverage, the picture above shows one coat.  (Yes, those are my real nails!) So if you're in a rush or dont have the patience like me to wait for multiple coats of paint to dry, you could get away with just one coat.   I always recommend two coats with all nail polishes and if you have time you should apply a top coat.   This way your keep your mani longer and your nails always look good.

This last picture shows my nails on day 5 after application.   As you can see there is some chipping and the polish is starting to peal back next to the cuticles.   But again, for only one coat and $1.99 this product really holds up.   I am sure I washed dishes and cleaned as normal within these 5 days.   I also work on a computer all day, so typing can cause some chipping.

Overall this product received a A+ Rating from me.

I received this product for free for testing purposes from influenster.

If you're interested in getting free products to test at home, please contact me.   I have invites for Influenster.   It costs you nothing, except time to try the products and write a review.

Thanks for reading my blog!

Listerine Review

Got a free sample from Wal-Mart samples for Listerine.   They have a 21 day challenge.   Although I don't think I got enough to test for a full 21 days, the sample size was a good size.

I like the clean feeling after use.  It was very overwhelming and minty....but if it burns that means it is working right?

Here us a question for everyone. ...di you use mouth wash before or after brushing your teeth?   According to my hubby and kid..I do it wrong.  I rinse first. ...oh well,  I don't care if its wrong, I like it!

There was only one negative, I noticed my mouth was really dry after use...but nothing a little water couldn't help.

Thanks for taking time to read my reviews!

Covergirl bomshell mascara review

Look at these results!  Wow, this product really works!

My daughter has the longest eyelashes, so i asked her to be my model for this review.  She loves makeup, so it wasn't hard to get her to cooperate!

In the First Photo, there is no product.   She cleaned off all eye make up and took a starting photo.

The Second Photo shows Step 1 (there are 2 steps to the mascara).  You can see the results already.  Step one adds length and volume.

The Third Photo is the final result, with Step 2.  This is the icing on the cake.  As you can see there is longer, blacker, fuller lashes.   This is definitely the result women are looking for in mascara.

Thank you to @Covergirl and @Influenster for providing free products for testing purposes.   We enjoyed trying this mascara and look forward to more reviews in the future.

Thank you for taking time to read my blog!

Hawaiian tropics review

I am not sure what the price point is for this product, but I would recommend this new Hawaiian tropics after sun lotion.  I received a sample of Hawaiian tropics silk hydration after sun lotion from influenster in my #surfsupvoxbox.   I am loving all my samples and can't wait until I get another voxbox!

Here are a few photos of my samples and my
#surfsupvoxbox I got from influenster.

The hawaiian tropics lotion is a coconut and papaya sent.  At first i didn't think I would like it as i do not like anything that smells like coconut.  Even my daughter was surprised i used it, but honestly, i liked the smell.  Maybe it was the papaya mixed in, not sure.  I did notice that later in the day i could smell the coconut more and more, which wasnt my favorite.  The smell lasted long, so if you like coconut, this ptoduct is for you.

The lotion was very silky and aborbed into my skin very quickly, no greasy feeling.  Great lotion regardless if you have a sun burn or not.

Thanks for taking time to read my review!   I received these free products for testing purposes.   If you're interested in getting free products to test at home, please contact me for a influenster invite.

Dissatisfaction with Allegiant Air

Dissatisfaction with Allegiant Air
My daughter, Katie, had a flight booked to leave Missoula and go to Los Angeles on Thursday June 12th.  The fight was booked several months in advance so she could visit with family and attend her uncle’s wedding.   The day prior to her flight, I went online and looked up her flight status with her confirmation number, I printed out her flight confirmation, which stated the flight departed Missoula at 1:36pm.   Thursday was her last day of school, and she was so excited to go to California, visit with family, go shopping, eat some In-N-Out and enjoy her summer.   She had worked really hard over the school year, playing Volleyball and Basketball and maintaining straight A’s in all of her classes.   Brad and I took Katie out to lunch to say goodbye before her 2 week trip to California, after all, we had a couple hours before her flight.
Katie and I arrived at the Missoula airport at 12:00, this way we had plenty of time to check in, say our good byes and wait for her flight to take off.   When we got to the ticketing area, it was empty, no one standing in line, no one working the ticketing counter – I thought this was odd, but hey, it’s a small airport on a Thursday, maybe we’re really early!   An employee asked if she could help, and I explained we were checking in for my daughter’s flight to LA.   She stated the plane already left, I responded “No it hasn’t” with my flight confirmation in hand.  She asked to see my paperwork and apologized saying the flight had left about 30 minutes ago.   I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.   As I looked over at Katie, I could see the look of disappointment and her eyes starting to tear up, how was she going to get to California?  The lady stated she needed to get a supervisor over to assist.
Another lady and a tall man, came out of the ticketing office to assist, both looking at my paperwork, confused as to how I just printed out a flight confirmation with the wrong information on it.   I asked if this had anything to do with the upgrade to their system.  I had to call a week prior to change the baggage between Katie’s flight and mine, as she needed a larger, checked in bag.   After waiting 35 minutes and being disconnected several times, I finally got a customer service agent who took about 30 minutes to update the “new system” with the baggage change, and charged me $19 for the change.   It was due to this customer service interaction, that I was made aware that Allegiant Air had recently updated their computer systems and lots of people where having “troubles” with the online reservation system and modifying their flights.   And regardless of the amount of times I attempted to contact their customer service, and the wait times, I also sent in several “contact us” emails to the Allegiant Air website, none of which were able to assist me with the baggage change nor did anyone verify or mention a change in the flight times.
The Ticketing agent, Stacy, was very apologetic and tried to assist with getting Katie’s flight corrected, as she was holding my printed flight confirmation from the day prior with the wrong flight times.   She contacted customer service to figure out why this happened and what they could do to correct the issue.   After about a half hour of waiting with Katie at the airport, they offered to fly Katie to Oakland California, which is about 5 hours in the opposite direction she was headed.   I stated that that would not work as she was a 15 year old, and had no way to get from Oakland to LA by herself.  Then after waiting another 15-20 minutes, they offered to transfer Katie’s flight information from Thursday June 12th to Sunday June 15th, 3 days later. Now, since this was our only option to get Katie to California, I said “YES”.   The ticketing agent said she was trying to get the Allegiant Customer service to waive the fees.   I am sorry, but I should not have to pay any fees for their error.   I am not even sure why they would think about charging a customer to correct their own error.   After about another 30 minutes of waiting for the ticketing agent to assist, she was able to print the new ticket confirmations for a Sunday flight, and stated I should contact Allegiant Air customer service for a better resolution.   I asked if someone could contact me back, due to my numerous issues in the past with waiting on hold and being disconnected.   She spoke with a Holly at Allegiant who took my phone number and was going to look into what they could do to make this better (aka compensation).
About an hour after I got home with Katie, Holly from Allegiant customer service called, apologized for the error and offered me $25 in vouchers.   I proceeded to tell her the story and the inconvenience this has caused us and our family in California, which she advised me to use the “Contact Us” Link and request additional compensation for their error.
Their first response was:
Thank you for contacting Allegiant Travel. Please be advised every passenger was notified of the schedule change via email. On the reservation in question the email address is different than the one you are emailing from, which would have prevented the email from getting to you. Whoever booked the reservation would have received the email with notification of the change. At this time it appears a voucher for $25 was issued on this reservation for the inconvenience. I apologize, however, no further compensation will be offered.
Allegiant Travel, as well as other airlines, reschedule aircraft and flights as needed, to provide the most efficient operation. Every attempt is made to notify customers of changes in schedule that affect them directly. Customer contact is done through our Schedule Change Department and Reservations Department by telephone or e-mail. Media outlets and our web developers have the information the same day as the Schedule Change Department, therefore, Allegiants passenger may hear the information from outside sources prior to the Schedule Change Departments notifications. There are many reasons for schedule changes including but not limited to: aircraft availability, route changes, service to new markets, airport curfews, crew resources, passenger feedback, or airport availability. The options available to the passenger are based on the amount of time the flight was affected – less than or greater than 4 hours. If you have any questions please call us directly at the number listed below.  We are open from 4:00 AM to 11:00 PM PST seven days a week.
Thank you for choosing Allegiant Travel.
To which, I needed to write back again: I understand airlines change flights, that is not the issue.   I checked the flight info online on YOUR website, which told me the flight was not changed and was still at 1:30pm.  I gave my printed flight confirmation,  from your website,  to the ticketing agent Stacy, who contacted your customer service number right away due to YOUR error.  I hope you reconsider your response below, if you're not able to apply more compensation, then I need to speak with someone else who can.

They wrote me back:
Hello Wendy,
We apologize, again for any inconvenience this has caused. Our final decision is to deny your request for compensation. While we understand that this decision is unsatisfactory to you, we are not able to modify our company’s policy regarding flight status. No further emails regarding this matter will be responded to as our final decision has been made. We thank you again for your business and appreciate your concerns.
Thank you,
Tori S
So now, they won’t research the issue or respond back to me

Meet Watson

This is a blog about Watson!

If you know anything about me, you know that I love my family and my dogs! I am new to this whole blogging thing and I wanted to start on something easy for my to talk about - so you guess it, you get to read about Watson.

Watson came into our lives in October 2009

Look at that face

He is such a goof ball and a loving boy!  He is so happy to see us every time we come home, regardless of how long or little we've been gone.
He definitely lives up to the Rottweiler stereo type, he is very loyal and protecting of his home and family.  While he may not be as fast as he once was, he will still run up to the fence and bark at you to let you know he is here - guarding the house.

I love this little guy!

Throughout my posts on here, I will talk about Watson, especially since he gets to try some of my samples.  For those samples and product reviews he will be highlighted, photographed and made into a product review star (he is just excited for the treats)  We'll see if he actually lets me take pictures and videos.  Haha, this should be fun (for me!)

Smile for the camera

I hope you enjoy reading my blog - please feel free to post comments, questions or whatever....please share my blog as well, because the more people that follow me, the more reviews I get to do!

Different Levels of the Sample World – Intermediate Level

Different Levels of the Sample WorldIntermediate Level

Different Levels of the Sample World (aka How to get FREE Stuff)
Okay, so you’ve liked a few of the websites I gave you before and you’re following them on Facebook, but you’re not getting anything FREE yet – most samples take 6-8 weeks to arrive so, while it may seem like you’ve done quite a bit and your mailbox is not overflowing yet.   You may say, yeah, thanks for nothing” Wendy!   J
Continue to click on the links and visit the websites for coupons and samples – they will come.   It feels like Christmas day when you open up your mailbox and it’s stuffed full of freebies, you will get so excited, you will start talking about it and want to go to the next level.   You might see Instagram photos of Full Size products and boxes full of products to test – and HEY, you want that too!    This next level will require more work than the previous step.   In order to get full size products, you will need to establish accounts with a few different companies, which will also require multiple surveys or form that you will need to fill out – you will also be asked to review the products after you’ve tried it (if you want to keep getting more).   You will start to increase your status or level with these companies, which in turn will get you more products and samples.

I will try to link all of my referral links within my blog so I can get credit for referring you!  Hey, I am trying to increase my status and levels too!

Not sure what the next level topic will be, I guess the next level is starting a blog – which I just did.  If I can do it, so can you!  And I’ve been reading about getting paid for your blogs – and what is better than FREE – Getting Paid *make it rain*

Beginner

Different Levels of the Sample World (Beginner)

Different Levels of the Sample World (aka How to get FREE Stuff)
If you’re a beginner or wanting to move onto the next level of the Sampling World – here is my version and different ways I have achieved my different levels.   Please note that you do have to ACTUALLY do some stuff to get the coupons, samples and free products that I talk about below.   Unfortunately there are not companies out there that will just pick your name and address out of the phone book and send you stuff – I know, I know!  Get over it J
You may have read other blogs or websites on “HOW TO” get free coupons, samples and products, and they may tell you something different – that’s OK, this is how I did it.  I’ve been doing this for a little over 2 years.  I got started by watching the “Extreme Coupon” show on TLC.   I, like many people didn’t know what to do or where to start, so I used my trusty google search and entered “how to get free coupons” – WOW!  The results where a little overwhelming, sign up here, enter your name here, click here, print this…….So I did what most people would do, and I clicked and downloaded and started printing.  BOOM – let the savings begin – right?! Not really….
I stopped getting the daily newspaper for various different reasons, and I was not able to jump into a dumpster and get coupons – umm gross!  So I was content with printing out a bunch of coupons to save $$ off items I wasn’t sure if I really needed or not, but hey, I had a coupon!   After a while, I started throwing away more printed coupons then I used, so was I really saving money – paper and printer ink is not cheap (I’ll give you a website later on where to get cheap ink).   So I wanted a way where I could have HIGH value coupons and not have to print as many.  That is when I read reviews from people on how to get coupons from companies of products I actually used and wanted.    Almost every company has their own website, so go to their website, find the “Contact Us” link and politely ask for coupons.   I like to throw in some compliments and let them know why I like their products, and it seems to work.   Sometimes the companies will send me small samples along with the coupons.   In Montana, I have not found a store that will double coupons, and the manufacture will always send higher value coupons – I’m talking a couple bucks off – not a 50 cents.   So give it a try – think of one product that you use every day (Toothpaste, Face wash) GO to their website and write them a note – see what happens J
Congratulations!!  You are now a BEGINNER
Here are some websites that I recommend as a beginner, most of these I still use today.   These will be your CORE websites for information on new samples and coupons available.   Most have a Facebook, so you can Friend/Follow to get updates in your news feed – you’re on Facebook all day anyways – might as well let it work for you to get alerts of samples!
At http://hunt4freebies.com/ you can find the best freebies offered on the web. To find the best store deals also follow our Coupon & Deals Facebook Page:http://www.facebook.com/Hunt4Freebies.Coupons
www.WomanFreebies.com You will find several samples and enter to win links
Free Samples, Free Stuff, And Freebies http://www.freesamples2fillupyourmailbox.com/
With the websites listed above, they provide links for the coupon, sample or Drawing – most smart phone and computers have an auto-fill option – use it!  It will save you a ton of time, so you don’t have to enter your name and address several times.   Also, if you have multiple people living in your house and they have a different email, you can sign up for multiple samples of the same product.
Let me know how it goes!  Good Luck and watch your mailbox get full of samples and free stuff!
Next, I will talk about Intermediate Level – Stay tuned

Trying out Blogger...what do you think?

Since I am still new to this whole blogging thing, I am still trying out some different sites.

What are your thoughts?

Do you like tumblr or this blogger better?

COPPERTONE® CLEARLYSheer™ sunscreen review

COPPERTONE® CLEARLYSheer™ sunscreen review

I received my COPPERTONE® CLEARLYSheer™ samples just in time for spring time, and everyone knows once spring time starts it’s time to be out in the yard! I knew it was time to start planting my garden, pulling the weeds, mowing and edging. If you don’t already know, I live in Montana and have an acre of yard, so everyone in the family needs to pitch in when it comes to yard work days. I was excited to try out our new COPPERTONE® CLEARLYSheer Sunny Day. I received a bottle of lotion, very average and just what I would expect from a sunblock. The website talked about the scent being tested by multiple people, and I agreed that it smelled pretty good. I personally don’t like anything that smells like coconut, you’ll learn more about my hatred for coconut smell later. This however, did not smell strongly - actually it was a pretty light, pleasant scent. The consistency was normal to other sunblocks I have used in the past, spread easy and absorbed into my skin well, no white streaks on my shoulders! I was interested in the fact that the product claimed to not clog skin and cause breakouts - because who the heck wants a bunch of acne! I didn’t notice any greasy feel and I was comfortable putting it on my face. My daughter even mentioned that she was okay putting it on her face too - and believe me, she is a teenager and normally doesn’t agree with anything I say. She even mentioned a couple day later that it didn’t break her out - that’s a win from a teen! I spent multiple hours out in the yard in and out of the sun, not one spot of sun burn. I am known to burn, peal and burn again, and no I am not a red head :) I liked this product and would recommend to my friends and family. I also received a few SPF 50 spray, which I love. I wish I would have gotten some SPF 30 in the spray option, because the spray is just so much easier.

Thank you for taking time to read my blog and my review on the COPPERTONE® CLEARLYSheer™.
This review made possible by COPPERTONE® CLEARLYSheer, and the fact I am a BzzAgent and I received free product and coupons.
